Alexander's is located on the round-about at our resort. We decided to try this restaurant tonight for dinner. It is located on a small river and had beautiful views.
We started with an order of calamari.
The calamari was fresh (though over salted), and the sauce was more tomato/salsa than marinara. Good enough.
I ordered a bowl of roasted red pepper bisque.
This was the highlight of my meal. The flavor was incredible. Rich and delicious.
The hubs tried their low country seafood chowder.
I am not a tomato fan, but he said this tomato based chowder had lots of great flavor and lots of meat.
I really enjoyed my entree as well, one of Alexander's specials this evening, the seafood sampler.
This dish contained fish, shrimp, scallops, a mini crab cake, and was served with green beans, cooked carrots and rice. The sweet cream butter was divine.
The hubs ordered the pasta du jour.
(Am I the only one that laughs at any 'du jour' dish…thinking about the movie 'Dumb and Dumber'? Okay, maybe it's just me.) This dish was beef tenderloin with fettuccini in a tomato sauce. (Lots of tomato in this outing, huh?
There was no room for dessert tonight so it looks like I'll have to find a sweet treat tomorrow to blog about.
