Day 2 of road trip vacation food – dinner

Once again Yelp came through and offered up a great dinner option while we stayed in North Carolina.  We went to The Daniel Boone Inn Restaurant for dinner in Boone.

The Daniel Boone Inn Restaurant serves dinner (and breakfast) family style!  The dinner includes:

  • Southern Fried Chicken
  • Country Style Steak (I think we had meatloaf on our visit)
  • Country Ham Biscuits
  • Real Mashed Potatoes with Gravy
  • Green Beans
  • Cut Corn
  • Fresh Stewed Apples
  • Our Signature Coleslaw
  • Buttermilk Biscuits
  • Choice of Homemade Desserts
  • Soup or Salad
  • Black Cherry Preserves
  • Beverage

My daughter was not quite sure what to think of all this food!  She had some chicken and a biscuit, some mashed potatoes and a couple of green beans.  Quite the accomplishment…mommy was proud.

Even though we were all hungry, I believe we only made it through one service, with maybe an additional request for mashed potatoes and corn.  So much food!  The country ham biscuits (bottom right of the above pic) are a HUGE favorite at this restaurant and these alone could make a meal.

And making their debut on my blog after over a year (even though they’ve eaten with us regularly and managed to stay out of the limelight)…say “Hi” to the folks!

Here were our desserts:

Chocolate cake, strawberry short cake and banana pudding.

We loved The Daniel Boone Inn Restaurant.

The restaurant and Inn is located at 130 Hardin Street in Boone, NC.  You can find out more about them at http://www.danlbooneinn.com/history.php.
